The City

Known as "the Middle of Everywhere", which is quite ironic because you have to drive 1 to 2 hours to get any where of any value, Rolla is a small town of 16,000 people in the heart of the Midwest. The people of this town are friendly folks willing to help out newcommers and make them feel welcome.

Many of the shop owners love when people come to visit Rolla. This tourism helps them bring additional revenue that in many cases keeps them open.

Rolla abounds with restaurants and lodging. The many restaurants can provide endless pleasure for your taste buds. Rolla has some of the best restaurants around. The top notch restauraunts are one of the reason Rolla tourism is a growing industry.

Many people will also find the many "Bed and Breakfasts" a great opportunity to get the peace needed from the hectic rat race of a big city. There are several of these peaceful escapes located in the Phelps county.

There are many things to do in Rolla and the surrounding area. University of Missouri-Rolla offers tours of its many structures and buildings. There are several local wineries that offer winetasting.
